Stevie Wonder - Song Review: Greatest Hits
By: Stevie Wonder

Price: $17.81

Thirty of the greatest hits of Stevie Wonder's - many of them enduring classics - make this double CD. That's the good news. The bad news is that they're sequenced here about as well (or not), a CD player, "random" function might do it. Add Starting with "Part-Time Lover" - a large table, no doubt, but hardly the rouser you'd expected for a start - is astonishing enough. That's when the programming begins Veering highlights of his self-produced period ( "Sir Duke") to Motown assembly-line pieces ( "My Cherie Amour") that the head-scratching really begins. And do not try the great moments that are missing. This will do in a pinch, but if you do not own Stevie be noted that a better overview of Wonder's career (which is by far the best four-CD box set at the end of a century) are available. - Rickey Wright
